Courage Letter From Gram

My Dear One,

This morning, I sat on the porch with my tea and a biscuit, and I watched the most marvelous little drama unfold.

The baby wrens in the hanging basket finally took flight.

Now, I’ve been keeping an eye on them since the nest was just a jumble of twigs, and Mama Bird was fluffing it up like she was decorating a nursery. First the eggs, then every morning, I heard their tiny peeps grow stronger. And today—oh, today—they fluttered out one by one, like hesitant little daredevils, unsure if their wings would hold.

One landed right on the railing, fluffed up like a cotton ball and looking very surprised to be airborne.

And do you know what it made me think of?

You.

And me.

And how sometimes in life, we all end up on the edge of something new—heart pounding, unsure if we’re ready. Whether it’s a big change, a small dream, or simply choosing to believe in ourselves a little more... it takes courage to leap.

But like those baby wrens, we don’t need to be perfect. We just need to try.

Wings get stronger with each flap. So do hearts.

So if you’re standing at the edge of something right now, wondering if you’re ready—I want you to know that I believe in you. Try it. Flap once. You might just surprise yourself.

And if you need a soft landing or a pep talk, I’m always here.

With warmest hugs and one extra for courage,
Love,
Gram
